About Stained Glass Art
Our Stained Glass Art is crafted in Virginia by ©Glassmasters. The pieces are created by craftspeople using the ancient technique used since the 15th century of applying colored enamels to clear cathedral glass. The artists apply one color at a time from a choice of over 600 different hues to richly textured cathedral glass and fire each color to temperatures of as much as 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
After all colors have been applied, the piece is fired at temperatures that exceed 1100 degrees Fahrenheit. This ancient process, enhanced by modern technology, permanently fuses the rich enamels into the glass. This insures that the inherent beauty of each design will never fade and will last a lifetime.
